I think it could be done better...

Is this how the general FBB league is done? I think it would be MUCH better if we did it like FF is done... As opposed to considering a win / loss each category of that week, it should be whoever wins the most of those categories wins for the week... Because look at it this way... Say Jake and I have two very dominant teams... And everyone else is just low balling like crazy... So basically say it comes down to a very important turning point in the season and Jake and I play each other... Now let’s just assume he is 95-5 and I am 90-10... To this point over all neither of us have been beat nor haven't played each other... So then after this game I get 6 points and he gets 3. That puts him at 98-11 and me at 96-13. That means overall he still wins but in actuality I should have won because I would have been completely undefeated, yet he won more overall scores... I hope this is clear what I'm trying to portray because it demands a very good argument on the other end as to why the hell a league would be setup like this :) I'm not saying I'm upset or anything like that so please doesn’t interpret the words for more than what they are... I'm just saying I don't understand. That's like having a league where you compare each position in FF, and how bogus would that be.... Almost the same thing.

The only scoring system that isn't flawed is true rotisserie..where you accumulate points for each category for the season. The win/loss system, especially in FF, is not a good way to figure out a league winner. How many times have you scored the second most points in the league and lost (b/c you played the guy with the most), while the guy who scores the second least wins(b/c he played the guy with the least)?...It's an unfair system also. This is just different.

This actually is a bit closer to rotisserie..under the way you want to do it, you could win all of your games 5-4 and be 10-0...and I could win all my games 8-1 and be 10-0...I would have the better team but we would have the same record. In that case you would only have to be dominant in 5 categories to be a great team. The scoring system we have now takes into account all the categories. You are right it could be better but true rotisserie is the only completely fair scoring system.

Plus I'm pretty sure that the scoring changes to more head to head during the playoffs. I would imagine if you play someone and win more categories, then you win and move on...this scoring is more to determine overall rank and playoff seeding...I'm not completely sure though.

My system isn't as you suggest... If we were both 10-0 because I played weak teams and you played harder teams big woop. Thats like me being in the NFC as the eagles last year and you being the colts in the AFC this year... One of us may play harder teams but guess what? we're 10-0.. That means when we come to the super bowl or end playoffs whatever, the better team will still win... If I beat you in 5 categories it looks like I was the better team after all...

The only problem with that is sometimes a better team might not even get that chance. In one of my FF leagues a guy who has the second most points in the league might not make the playoffs. He has just had some bad luck with a tough schedule, but his team does well every week. So the head to head FF model is definitely not a fair gauge of who is a better team and who should win the league. Neither is this, but I still think it is closer. Rotisserie is still the only fair scoring system.

But once we get to the playoffs then yes the better teams should win out, so it shouldn't be much of a problem at that point.

Ok fair enough. I guess I can agree with that.

that is why...fantasy football is the true and best fantasy sport...compared to baseball and basketball...there is no scoring system that can equate a rebound to a 3 pointer...or a home run to a stolen base...

rot is the "true" fantasy league that determines the "best" team...but rot is boring as hell..."u set it...and forget it"...like that oven they show on infomercials...

at least thats the way i look at it...
