When did you start gambling?
When I was 16. I've been involved with gambling for 37 years now.
I made a living for 21 years as a bookmaker. I also have owned race horses, and spent a LOT of time at the track. (hence my "nic") I have been involved in online gaming since early 2000.
What do you think about the bonuses that casinos give out now?
I think they are the biggest source of "problems" between players and casinos. 90% of the problems I read about on the gambling forums are "bonus related".
What would like to see done to improve online operations??
Better informed and trained customer service reps. Many I've dealt with are totally clueless. Faster response time to e-mail inquiries. A 2 day wait for a reply is unacceptable. And regulation, by a trusted and knowledgeable group.
Also, a total "overhaul" of the bonus offers.
What casino operation do you think is run smoothly??
I have never had any problems with the Fortune Lounge Group. I play there the most. Slotland has terrific customer service, pays fast, but the games they offer are not that attractive. RTG casinos always seem to have the most problems in my experience.
What sportsbooks do you place a bet at? Why? Pinnacle and Olympic would be my recommendation, as they are both proven reliable and professional. Bodog is also gaining a good reputation.
Has a casino never paid you? What happened? Only once... TCO (thecasinoonline) a popular RTG casino that stiffed a LOT of people. Fortunately for me, the amount was less than $100. Others were not so lucky.
How long have you been running the show at www.thiscasinosucks.com I don't "run the show" there, but I was involved in the format of it when it first started in 2002. Nick (the CPA) is the "mastermind" behind it. I became the board "moderator" in Jan 2004.
As a summation from my own personal experiences, my advice would be to stick with "proven" casinos, avoid the "ridiculous" bonuses (like the 400% ones) read the "Terms & Conditions" very carefully, and if you are not "comfortable" at a certain casino for any reason, find another one where you DO enjoy playing. There ARE a lot of decent ones to choose from.
