Wrong Gender to be stripped!
Here's an intriguing event in the wide world of sports for you, sports fans:
Are the women's 800 meters Asian Games track competition results becoming a 'transvesty'?
"According to a report in The Times of India, the silver medalist in the women's 800 meters in this month's Asian Games has failed a gender test and is expected to be stripped of the medal. The newspaper said test reports sent to the Indian Olympic Association said Santhi Soudarajan "does not possess the sexual characteristics of a woman."
Race officials allegedly first became suspicious when Soudarajan submitted her urine sample while standing, then subsequently forgot to put the toilet seat down. At that time, they then conducted an extensive battery of gender tests, including, but not limited to: ability to remember anniversaries, willingness to ask for directions and affinity for the Three Stooges."
The last sentence doesn't sound right, now does it?
Here's the original source in case you dont believe that the last sentence is for real - very understandable. The article is the 'Gender Bender' one.
I'd think that a simple 'visual' exam would solve the issue; it's not that simple, it seems. The short article contains this link to a more detailed article; and it only seems to compound the issue further into murky waters. I'd bet that Crocodile Dundee would have solved that dilemma with a single solid TUG ; )
The implicated runner's own coach, P. Nagarajan, who we'd guess should know a tad more about the athlete that he's trained, including what sex they are, reveals little by his final comments, which are: "If the reports are true, then it is very sad and extremely disappointing."
Whatever, coach.
Holiday cheers to all.
