Perspective on Presidential Candidates

Chuck Blount
San Antonio Express-News

Let's be honest: There are bigger campaign issues out there than online poker in the 2008 presidential race.

The war in Iraq is a big one.

The United States is predicted to slip into an economic recession.

The health care system is held together with duct tape and paper clips.

Stacked deep into the abyss-like list of campaign issues sits the candidates' stances toward the legalization of online poker. Wolf Blitzer won't address it on the next CNN debate, but most poker enthusiasts would do well to investigate the positions.

It's been almost two years since the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The legislation blocked financial institutions from transferring funds to online gambling sites and put a massive roadblock in the multibillion-dollar poker industry.

The UIGEA was successful in driving many recreational players out of the online market.

Very very interesting I like the concept of health care held together by duck tape and paper clips LOL. It seems like that’s not all the duck tape and paper clips are being use for.
