Harvard lawyers work to overturn gaming ban

Poker players pining for a return of Internet gaming now have the law on their side. Harvard Law, that is.

A pair of top Harvard Law School professors have taken up an unlikely cause - the legalization of online poker.

Professor Charles Nesson has become an outspoken advocate on behalf of online poker, blasting last year’s crackdown, which banned online poker and other forms of Internet gaming in the United States.

Poker, OK. I can live with that. Recent caveats based on the likes of Absolute Poker aside, poker seems by and large crook-free. As long as the Harvard fella understands that poker is a very distinct entity to casinos. I wouldn't advocate a return to casinos for the US market. Far too many crooks, far too many crook affiliates pimping for them.

I think the smart poker players know this anyway, and will make clear the distinction.

Theres fair and unfair, honest and dishonest in each case. There are good and reliable poker places and casinos out there. Please understand that I am not disputing you in anyway, its just that I dont play poker and do love slots.

I think that there will always be a way for a scamer to scam the people i know there are legit places to play and i love to play slots but it seem to be the way of this world to always pull something over on someone eles and see if they can get away with it

Bartongirl, you are more than welcome to agree or disagree with me as you see fit. If I had a problem with people disagreeing with me I'd have cracked up a long time ago.

Poker is by and large clean. Casinos just don't cut it. There is too much crap out there. Most Playtechs, and pretty much all RTGs. Then add a fair slice of Microgamings that pull bonus nonsense on players.

At the risk of playing Big Brother, it's a market the US admin would do well to keep off their shores.

BTW, if I can do or say anything to cure you of the slots affection, I'm at your disposal.

Lol, Caruso, I dont think I can be cured of the slots thing. Our local casino has just put in table gaming. Poker has started up first, and although I know how to play poker, I dont play the game. I guess its because cards were our past time as a kid. Before TV you know. lol And believe me, I dont play cards much at all these days. Kinda burned out on it as a kid.
