It isn't making it look bad.
It follows one major point.... we are US citizens and we are unhappy with this law and the way it was put in place.
There are just so many reasons on why it was wrong, that to have an individual petition for each would lower the effect of the numbers presented as a whole.

The idea is to yell out " hey we don't like this!" and get the attention it deserves....and by reading the comments it will become clear to them that there is a multitude of reasons why we do not like it.

anyway, that is just my view on it. it does not mean Im right or wrong...its an opinion.

Well for 1, I'm not here to debate the issue, yes gambling is illegal unless regulated in the USA. No matter how it was started, we have a problem, so lets try to solve it.
2. It was a dirty trick by Senator Frist to put this issue in the Port Security's Bill
3. If you want this law changed lets continue to try and get as many signatures on the current petition, to go back and start over at this point is absolutely ludicris. It's to the point and tells how the American people feel about the issue.

Well I'm not one to roll over and just quit .I signed that petition sometime late last year and have placed it any where I can .I've had articles in the local paper , have writtin the white house along with my states senators and congressmen...with replys back I might add . The PPA , which I'm a proud member of ,even posted one of the letters I recieved back from senator Graham in their forum . Talking with these politicians is like talkin to a brick wall , but I'll continue to do what I can . My blog and the differant forums I'm in , along with myspace will never hear the end of me...(as I have been doing since last October )..I tried to warn folk about all this BEFORE the house had even voted on it at a few sites , but everyone just laughed and said the government could never stop it . Now folk have opened their eyes and realized that this is no joke . Will it do anygood ? Hell , I dont know...but it sure beats just sittin on my can and not doing a thing . To be blunt about the whole thing , if you dont like something , but make no effort to change it , you're part of the problem...........There is power in numbers and I encourage everyone to join in on the fight with the PPA or the WPA , sign the petitions , and to write their congressmen . All players from all over this world should let their voices be heard on this , we all know that these stupid laws spread fast....From my understanding its done been banned in some ways in Italy , Australia, Germany among some other countries and now Canada is talking about doing the same thing.................

First off let me thank this forum for allowing open debate on the issues and thanks to all the moderators.

To Sir William58 I would say the issues needs to be debated why because at this point and time all American citizens are being mislead to many of the facts and for anyone to make an informed opinion they do need all the facts.

Fact is the port security act is the least of the problems for Americans and site owners suchs as forums and gambling sites. The facts are even without the port security act it is illegal for sites to take wagers from Americans and sites that helps players to place wagers such as affiliate sites and or recieves credits from gambling sites that is based in the United states and they are in violation of the wire act and it is a federal crime not withstanding that certain states have prohibited online gaming and these sites and forums are also in violation of some state laws.

My only point about the petition is this how are we going to tell if people are signing the petition to legalize online gambling or they just want to bitch about the port security act.I have signed other petitions and wrote my congressmen in support of making online gambling legal.

I in no way meant any disrespect to anyone here at the forum bit was just trying to make a point by all means the petiotion should be sent in.
But I really think a petition needs to be started by an independent group that has nothing to gain from the industry and it has one goal to legalize online gaming that the only point I am trying to make.

To skinski I would say an independent petition seperate from the ppa and wpa
would be more effective for the Americans to protest and sign petitions that is presented by the gaming industry trying to fight to stay alive in the Usa will not be looked on favorably by our congress or those many members that does not like the stats quo of the industry as is.

We as Americans should be fighting this fight on its on merits and not mere yes men for the industry.
