Gretzky steps down

This was some intresting news to read about. It appears that the much loved Wayne Gretzky has decided to step down as the coach of the Coyotes.

Gretzky has said that because it appears that he has been left out when it comes to the future plans of the team that he just decided to be the bigger man and step down.

There have been two bidders for the franchise and they are the NHL and billionairs Jim Baslille. Though it is unknown at this time who is the winning bidder for the franchise.

Even though Gretzky has made his decision to step down, commissioner Gary Bettman of the NHL has made it clear to Gretzky that doors will remain open so that he may remain as part of the team if the NHL is the winning bidder.

Gretzky's main goal as coach for the Coyotes was to get the team turned around and winning. Though this was hopes with out much success, though thanks to Gretzky the Coyotes are now in a position to gain better success in the future.

Personally I was surprised to hear this news of Gretzky deciding to step down and possibly away from the sport that he has loved and devoted his life to for so long. The many fans will all be saddened if Gretzky does decide to leave the dream of hockey behind and move on with this life.

I was never much of a hockey fan, but I do have alot of respect fo rthe training that these men tolerate as well as the work they put into each and every game out there on the ice.
