$41 Million Deal for Youkilis

Kevin Youkilis has signed a deal for a contract extension with the Boston Red Sox that will net him $41 in the next 4 years. The deal includes a $1 million signing bonus, with $6 million this year, $9,125,000 next year and $12 million for each of the following two years.

Youkilis is a definite asset for the Red Sox. As a hitter last season, he had 29homeruns (.312) and 115 RBIs. As a fielder, he made only 4 errors in 125 games at first base. He holds the major league record at first base with no errors in 238 straight games.
