Vick signs with Eagles

Michael Vick signed with the Philadelphia Eagles!

Now for my unpopular view: I think it is good.

What he did was wrong and I am not condoning it but he payed his dues according to our justice system and after that he deserves to move on just like anyone else. Just so happens he is an NFL player and making all that money angers everyone over everything else.

No one cared when he was let out and was doing construction!

If you have a problem with him being back so soon, be mad at the system that let him out, not at the person himself. He did everything that was asked of him.

Am I going to but an Eagles Vick jersey, no...but I don't blame him for taking advantage of the offer laid before him.

The man needs to work, and if the owner of a team wants him, thats fine, but I strongly hope that law enforcement in the area in which he resides is going to be keeping an eye on him and his activities for a long time to come. And i really believe he should be doing something to "benefit" animals court ordered for the rest of his life.

Re: Vick signs with Eagles

I personally dont think that this man should be allowed to make millions of dollars per year. Unless 90% of that money is going to help animals who are in need of it.

Vick murdered defenseless animals, many people looked upon this man as a role model. I dont know about everyone else but I prefer my children to choose a role model who doesnt torture and kill animals.

If Vick begins making millions of dollars again, then what is going to stop him from repeating the same behavior as before? There is no sure way to prevent this from happening.

I completely disagree with him being allowed to rejoin the NFL.

Here is some intresting news about the whole ordeal from the ASPCA.

Re: Vick signs with Eagles

Here is why I vehemently disagree with scoobygirl30 and all the people who take that view.

Do you not believe that he did his time and deserves a second chance? What about all the rest of the ex-cons getting out, do they deserve a second chance?

If he was still working a $10 an hour construction job in Va would there be protesters??

I love animals but would never consider trading a human life for any of my pets. If it came down to saving my moms life or my dogs life my mom would win every time. So with that in mind where are all the protesters, news media, ESPN and the rest with Donte Stallworth?

Who is Donte Stallworth? A WR for the Browns, a damn good one. But:

Quote:
Stallworth pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter and served 24 days in jail after striking and killing pedestrian Mario Reyes in Miami Beach on March 14. His blood-alcohol level was .126, well above the Florida limit of .08, and blood tests also showed traces of marijuana in his system.
24 days for KILLING A MAN!

He is now on house arrest and allowed to leave daily to TRAIN WITH A TRAINER for his return next year to the NFL!

He is not bankrupt, he is not on the front page of newspapers, featured on ESPN or having any expectation thrust upon him. He is not being required to repair his image by doing drunk driving endorsements, he is back page news at best.

The media attention, public opinion and justice system is screwed up in this country and this is just one glaring example.

Don't hold your breathe waiting for the demonstrations outside Cleveland next year when Stallworth returns, killing a man doesn't seem to be high priority to the media or public opinion.

Re: Vick signs with Eagles

Well my opinion is my opinion. Even Vick working construction making $10 per hour was to much money for him to be making. He should still be behind bars. This is the way I feel.

As for the thousands of people who have been convited of murder and then released, should not have happened. If you take a life, then I believe that you should lose yours.

The laws that we have today are I believe horrible. I can understand accidents happen, but if you take a life on purpose or by drinking and driving or anything like that then you dont deserve to life freely as the rest of us do.

Again this is just my opinion, and its the way I feel.

Re: Vick signs with Eagles

My opinion is that yes, what he did was wrong. He went to prison for 2 years served his debt and now everyone is all upset because someone is giving him a second chance. I say give him a chance, if he's truly sincere in his apology then it will show. I would never ever dream of torturing any animal and I have to agree that in some way he should be funding or donating something to help animals. But then again, is he truly sorry for what he did or is he sorry that he got caught?

All I keeping reading everywhere is he's getting paid millions of dollars when he shouldn't be. The man is BROKE! He filed for bankruptcy in April so those millions of dollars that he's getting paid - it's going to the $10 - $50 million in debt that he owes.

As for Donte Stallworth - he should be in prison! Not on house arrest.
