2005 OPU Fantasy Football League

Hey guys,

I'm looking to start a fantasy football league this year. I play a lot at sportingnews.com
they have draft and trade for $21.99 apiece. we'll need atleast 10 teams for the league. i'd like to find something with bigger prizes (this one is $100 to league winner, $25 for 2nd place)

gonna see what they have at other places

i'm open to suggestions

ive had bad experiences with pay leagues. id jump at a yahoo free league tho!

Yahoo sounds decent also, I'll look into it. I get bored with free leagues, like to have an entry fee (nothing outragous). If we can do that, we can payout the top 3. would like to have 12-15 teams.

We'll all be in the same league Poly. 1 big league.

I'll do some research tonight. Once we get guys (and gals) on board, we'll discuss the rules, the draft, ect...

I set up a free league at espn.com

Need some input from you guys to see what a reasonable entry fee will be

Personally, I think $25 per team is good. I set it up for 16 teams (4 divisions of 4 teams apiece). 8 teams make the post season.

The four teams that get "homefield" get 5 bonus points for having the better record.

Each team has will have 10 starters and an 8 man bench: 1 starting QB, 2 Starting RB's, 1 RB/WR, 2 Starting WR's, 1 Starting tight end, 1 Placekicker, and 2 Team defenses/special teams.

Traditional scoring rules apply (if you're not sure what that is, I'll post them)

Each player will have plenty of time to set their draft list. this will be an automated draft. Hope to hold it by mid-August.

at $25 apiece for 16 teams, that's a $400 prize pool. (we can make it $50 entry if everyone agrees, that will double the prize pool). I am going to see if Sage or Damian will hold the money till the end of the season.

1st place $250
2nd place $100
3rd place $50

Opinions please??

I'll be in whatever you guys choose but I've always thought a 16 or 18 team league required alot more skill. Matter of fact, I prefer individual defensive players to team defenses but realize that most don't, but if possible I'd like a bigger league where not every starter on my team is a star.

Anyway, I'll input more later.
