I am most anxious to hear how well you did there. I understand you went and played poker, how did that go. What were the dealers like. Did you have any luck at all?

Well as I said my Husband and I went to the Downs as we call it around here..
First the buffet was wonderful..
Yes we played Texas Holdem it was fun. the dealers were smiling and friendly and the dealers that I had addressed you by your name. although I myself didn't do well my husband did he played for over 5 hrs. and came out ahead, my son inlaw came out way ahead.. we all had a great time. Can't wait to go back..
My sister and her daughter did well on the slots. They played the penny machines and did well . My sister cracks me up she sits down puts in a dollar won a bonus on her first spin and cashed out 35.00 shes funny, my neice put in 10 dollars and cashed out 45.00 we all laughed and had a wonderful time..

Thank you for posting your poker experiences at Wheeling Downs.

I went over last nite for a little while and the place was packed. They have Roulette up now and the table is right at the entry into the casino, and there were a lot of people standing there watching.

I played the slots as usual, but didnt win anything. I think that from now on I will go like at 8 am and miss the crowds. May have better luck then too.

Yes there is a big rolette wheel in front that welcomes you in.. And then the Black Jack tables and craps tables and all different kinds of poker.. 3 card 4 card , let it ride anything you can think of..

The crowds of people were very hard to get through, and I am thinking that since Wheeling Downs is now open 24 hours a day, that going like 8 am might be the thing to do. I imagine at that hour, that there would be less people and therefore more machines open.

But of course, we also have the option of playing at 3 other places before we even get to Wheeling Downs. Gumbys, right after you get off the bridge, has machines. So does Abbeys which is directly across the street from Gumbys. Also, there is a little gambling room right behind the Convenient store there on the island. So, if you dont want to fight the crowds, you can always try one of the above places.

I go when I visit my mom. Lots of fun to be had. I enjoy the time we spend together and we won a little last time. We put back in and lost it all but was great. If your ever in wheeling west virginia checik it out.

Well my husband and I along with my daughter's fiance and Neices Husband and one of his friends entered in the Texas Holdem Tournament at the downs today.... It was so much fun... There were 99 players and they paid out the top 10... The friend went out early.. hes a bluffer .. I however lasted a little longer I got put out in 30 place.. lasted better than 69 players yeah for me. My husband got put out in 16th place.. just missed the money darn... my Neices husband however did place in the money he got 4th place very proud of him and my daughters fiance did even better placing 3rd we are very very proud of him....
They have tournaments Monday thur Thrusday... for a $65. oo buy in except Wedensday and its $120.00 and on Sunday it is a $40.00 buy in...
it was alot of fun .. very relaxed and laid back atmostphere.. and I will definately be doing it again..

Awesome it sounds like you had a great time I am glad to hear that members in your party placed. I have never been in a big tournament such as that. I have played with friends and family but it sounds like a blast I might have to try it sometime.
