Casino's Promo Mistake Costs Big

Penn National Race Course's Hollywood Casino in Grantville, Pa., sent out promos to what it thought was 1,000 of it's customers. The promotion was for $100 in slot credits per week from Dec. 1 through Jan. 4. Also offered were 2 free visits for the buffet.

This became a problem for the casino when it became apparent that the promotion was actually sent to 55,000 people instead of the 1,000 customers that were supposed to receive this benefit. For the casino to pay out all 55,000 people with free slot play, it would cost the casino $29 million.

The executives of the casino have decided to give the customers a part of the promotion by offering each player $100 in slot credits and 2 buffet passes, as long as they are redeemed by Christmas.

Wow! That is certainly a BIG mistake! I bet it is not something they will mistakenly do again!

At least even though it was a mistake, looks like the casino did a good job to make up for it!

I bet this mistake sent a few people through the roof. Though I am glad to see that they are not stopping those who recieved this special offer by mistake from claiming their special offers. Though a 29 million dollar mistake is one heck of a mistake to make. Though it all seems that it could actually work out for the best. This mistake will get more people into the casino and possibly get them spending a bit more than the free $100 slot credits offered by the promotion.
