Cooking Mama

Cooking Mama is a ninetendo DS game which I purchased for myself a while ago.

Though now this game is actually helping my 11 year old step daughter in cooking. This game teaches you how to measure things out, chop food items up as well as how to mix this properly.

I never thought that when I purchased this game it would come in handy as a teaching tool to help someone in the kitchen.

She is becomming quite good at the game, and now she is wanting to try the real thing in the kitchen with me.

Thanks to this game I now have some help in the kitchen when I am preparing dinner for everyone.

She takes great pride in the things she helps to prepare. Each day she is asking me what we will be having for dinner as well as what it is she will be making herself.

I am starting to think that maybe we have a new chef in the family,LOL.

Re: Cooking Mama

That is great!!! Sounds like a game that teaches without them realizing they are learning. If they realize they are learning they wont want to play it anymore..LOL Kids never stop amazing me.

Re: Cooking Mama

I agree. If kids realize that they are actually learning something, often times they will completely stop what they are doing.

Though she is hooked not only on this great game, but also to helping me in the kitchen.

Last night she did most of the work in the kitchen, while I simply supervised her, and gave her some helpful tips and hints.

Everyone loved the dinner and were surprised when they all realized that it wasnt actually me who had made it.

This of course boosted her pride a whole lot, and she is looking forward to cooking many different things.
