Table Games at Rivers Casino in Pennsylvania

Rivers Casino in Pennsylvania have a petition to be allowed to operate 86 table games in the casino.

Yesterday the Pennsylvania State Gaming Board received the petition and will review and consider it.

The addition of the table games would allow the casino to hire an additional 309 full-time employees and 149 part-time employees which would be great folks in the area as jobs are desperately needed.

There would be 350 dealer positions open with the rest being managers and supporting staff.

Quote:
In its petition, Rivers Casino reiterated its commitment to promoting diversity in its workforce along with intentions to continue hiring candidates from the local area neighborhoods, City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny and surrounding counties. Among Rivers' recruitment partners are Northside Leadership Conference, Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, Career Development Center and Pennsylvania CareerLink.

"We're looking for the very best candidates to join the Rivers Casino team," said Todd Moyer, general manager of Rivers Casino. "Positive, energetic personalities and people with a strong sense of customer service are top prospects. We'll teach the dealer skills."
I have not been able to determine when a decision will be made.

Re: Table Games at Rivers Casino in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania would be crazy not to let this happen.I mean the number of unemployed people has sky rocketed over the past two years. What state or county couldn't use the extra jobs and revenue that expanding the number of tables in the casino will bring.

More people will come there to play because of the convenience and the number of tables that they will now have.People love to come back and see the changes as well.

People also believe that when a casino expands or first opens that thier odds of winning there are greater because the casino's want to get known for producing winners quickly. This is what brings more people into thier casino's.

Re: Table Games at Rivers Casino in Pennsylvania

Rivers Casino would definitely have a lot more revenue coming in if they did add table games as right now most everyone that wants to play table games from Pittsburgh are going to Wheeling Downs in West Virginia which is only about a 45 minute drive from Pittsburgh.

The addition of jobs that the table games would initiate would also be a plus for their area. Plus the fact that the revenue the city would pick up from the casino adding these games to their casino would also be a step in the right direction.
