Foxwoods Getting Sued Because of Things A Dealer Said

At Foxwoods Casino, a roulette worker made some very vulger comments to nine women gathered around his table. He was speaking in Spanish and did not think the ladies could understand what he was saying.

What he didn't know is that he was speaking to an NYPD sergeant, a Long Island cop and an FBI special agent. He also didn't know that one of them is a business woman named Michelle Marigliano who used to teach bilingual education. She was able to understand everything the worker said.

The women made complaints and were invited to the high-rollers' lounge. They were given free drinks, free breakfasts and two free rooms for the Connecticut facility.

They were told by the casino that at least one worker was fired.

The woman are not satisfied with this and are seeking $500,000 each in a lawsuit.

Arnold Kriss, the ladies lawyer says they are bringing the suit for emotional damage and the dismissive attitude.

Foxwoods claims it is immune to suits brought in state court. They say legal actions must be brought in tribal court.

I don't believe that getting a free room would satisfy me either. These employees are supposed to be professional and act accordingly. This guy obviously did not.

Lol, I bet he didn't suspect they were cops and FBI. Had they been male, he probably would have been more careful.

Re: Foxwoods Getting Sued Because of Things A Dealer Said

I have to agree with you, I probably wouldn't be satisfied with a room, drinks, and a meal either, and don't blame the women for wanting to see someone punished.

In this case, I believe that the casino and the dealer should be named in the suit. I know that in our area, anyone employed by the casino is a representative thereof and both are liable. I hope this teaches the casino and the dealer some lessons. The first one being, that you need to watch your tongue, you never know who is listening, or what they can understand. Another is to be respectful, some of the most undistinguished people are those with the most clout.

I wish the women good luck. I hope they get what they need from this one.

I agree with your statement too Dominique, it probably wouldn't even been an issue if they were men.
