Compulsive gambler sues for losses.

An Australian man has sued for loses he incurred at a casino. The man also still owed the casino $1M on top of the $27 he had already lost at Crown Casino.

After the court had ruled that he alone was responsible for controlling his gambling, they also tacked some interest onto the $1M that the man still owed.

And it does seem like these types of court issues are becoming more and more prevelant, but the courts in Australia as the courts here in the US are having none of it.

The courts are both putting the blame where the blame is due, on the gambler which is as it should be. There are programs out there for problem gamblers and they need to take advantage of them.

I so totally agree!

Why is it when someone gets in over their head they instantly blame someone else and gets a lawyer.

I relate this to the person who sued McDonald's when she spilled hot coffee on her lap and burned herself.

LOL propiper!!! That one was funny! The laws need to change so people can't sue others for any and everything. There needs to be guidelines to go by. This is how lawyers get rich. It is to easy to sue!

I also think so! Why someone should be responsible for that another can't control themselves!?! I'm just outraged! It's barefaced impudence!
The only who benefit in situations like this are lawyers!
