Ohio Slots Rally

As a fellow Ohioan, I am happy to hear this news.

Lawmakers in Ohio seem to be slowly changing their stance on gambling in the state. I am sure they do see how much tax money they are missing out on by not allowing slots and other gambling in Ohio. That is not to say that I think the laws will change anytime soon but I guess you never know.

At the Statehouse this morning, hundreds of horse enthusiasts rallied to allow slot machines to be played at seven race tracks in the state.

They say without the addition of slot machines, most of the race tracks in Ohio will likely close and we will lose about 16,000 jobs because of it.

People who are in favor of slot machines at the race tracks are being asked to write to lawmakers and let them know that you are in favor of having them. This issue only requires approval from the General Assembly. It need not be placed on the ballot for voting.

Who knows? Maybe times are changing enough to where we will get our casinos. Someone came by my house last weekend for my signature on the subject. Of corse I signed it and so did my hubby and neighbors. They said they have more than enough signatures already, but they will continue to work for the next 4 days to get even more.
