The 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event will be here before we know it and players from all around the world will be there to take to their chances at hitting it big. To better their odds, the World series of Poker Academy will host their main event primer on June 29 - July 1 at Caesars Palace Las Vegas.
The academy is simply to prepare the players for the major tournaments such as the WSOP Main event. Their will be a dream team of poker pros to help them along too. Those include WPT title winner Phil Gordon, poker tells expert Joe Navarro, poker pro and instructor Alex Outhred, past WSOP Main Event champions Phil Hellmuth and Greg Raymer and WSOP bracelet winners Annie Duke and Mark Seif and lots more.

During the Main Event Primer, instructors will lead participants through three days of advanced seminars with questions and answers, video analysis of WSOP tournament footage, live hand demonstrations and private multi-table tournaments. The focus of the curriculum will be on advance concepts of No-Limit Texas Hold 'em tournament strategy, including the advanced math of poker, advanced tournament stage strategy, pre-flop and post-flop strategy, table dynamics, intimidation and control of your opponents and heads-up strategy. Instructors will also talk specifically about tournament preparation for the Main Event and tips on qualifying via satellites.

Also in attendence will be author and lecturer Joe Navarro to hold an advanced poker tells seminar on decoding poker tells. He spent 25 years with the FBI working counterintelligence and counterterrorism. he specialized in the area of reading non-verbal communications that people use when they are lying.
