If you know anything about poker, and I will admit I don't know that much, then you have heard of Tom McEvoy. He has been spectacular at the game for many many years already but is still wanting to add more to his credentials to ensure himself a spot in the Poker Hall of Fame.
He has cashed in at thirty-eight World Series of Poker events. He has won won four gold bracelets including the 1983 Main Event title. He has earned more than $2 million dollars. But he still feels the need to validate himself in the poker world.
So when he heard about the new World Series of Poker Champions Invitational to take place, he began to prepare. This event was for those who have previously won main events. It was a non-bracelet tournament. He figured how better to validate his worthiness into the Hall of Fame.
All of his hard work and preparation paid off as he won the Binion Cup late Monday night by knocking off 2002 champ Robert Varkonyi in heads up play.
