Guiness World record broken.

Poker Stars broke the record for the largest online poker tournament. They had a record 35000 players. The tournament had an $11 buy in. This tournament had a guaranteed prize pot of $500,000.

The winner was a gentleman from France. He won the first prize of $30,000. He had to play long and hard to get through all of the competition. Good job.

I like the fact that there was such a small buy in cost. This may be what did it for them. Most people could afford that much. That is a lot of people online at one time. The first prize winner said he won after playing for only ten hours.

Way to go to them! I am sure the cheap buy in cost had a lot to do with getting that many people involved.

Oh man, if i was at a poker tourney and saw 35k players, i would cry and turn around and go home!! loll...no way i am winning.

I had the same thought. I am not a great poker player but it would be worth at least trying for that amount of money. If lady luck was on your side you could keep playing and win too.

Skill isn't always what wins the game. I think it is the luck of the draw. Determination also gets most players through most games.
