2009 Bayou Poker Challenge

There have been a total of twenty gold ring poker tournaments scheduled and today the eleventh one was completed at Harrah's in New Orleans.

The lucky winner of this tournament was twenty-three year old Chris Tipper from West Virginia. He is a Marshall University Graduate and currently lives in Huntington, WV.

Tipper began the final round with one of the biggest stacks and he dominated the play through the 5 hour final round.

Chris Tipper won the prize money of $22,558. He also received the Gold Ring which is the ultimate achievement for winning a WSOP Circuit event.

Just two months ago, Tipper took fourth place in the Wynn Classic in Las Vegas.

I like to see young people win these things. More and more of the younger crowd is getting in on the fun! I am not good enough at poker to even think of playing in a tournament, but I do love to watch them.
