all in

I'm not much of a poker player, but I played in a freeroll recently. And I was really lucky. I got up into the last five, and I had all the chips. (Well, not all of them of course, but way more than anyone else.)

Anyway, there we are on the last table and suddenly just about everyone went all-in on just about every hand they played.

I got so befuddled I ended up losing it all.

Whats the best strategy when that happens?

Best thing to do is play smart, tighten your play and only play the so called good hands IE..AQ, AK, AJ, KQ, KJ, or pocket pairs of 10's or better ect, this way if someone goes all in on you you have a good chance of hitting. On final table most players are just wanting to steal blinds so when someone calls they get worried...lol

I'm sure you will, just remember if on a final table, if you don't flop it, drop it...lol

Often time when you get to the last few people (4 or less I would say) on a FT the blinds get kind of large compaired to peoples stacks. At that point hand values rise with each person that is knocked out. Sometimes, you can bet simply on what your opponent doesn't have if you have the big stack. However, if you are not used to final tables this might not be the best strategy.

Since I usually donk out of freerolls I haven't made many final tables for them. I'm not sure if they play differently than a paid entry tourney.

freeroll finals are usually pretty tight unless the prize spread is so tight from 1st to 9th that it's no big deal, or blinds are so high there's few other options then all-in. But if I'm on any final and the table looks like they are gonna eat each other up, I just let them. Ba patient and wait for the good hands, and then push. (don't slow play, you want as few in the hand as possible.) good luck

FYI making the final of a freeroll is a feat in itself. congrats

edit: just noticed thread is rather old, hope it helps anyway
