I just read this and thought that perhaps some of our friends would want to participate in this event.

The Gin Rummy Association announced its partnership with the Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) to hold the first ever World Series of Gin Rummy Ladies Event. The two-day event, which will take place on May 2nd and 3rd, 2011 will be held at Bally's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Registration is from 8:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. Monday May 2, 2011. at Bally's Casino. The entry fee is $300. The first day ladies event begins at 10:00 A.M. and consists of playing 8 ( 150 point games). Continuation of the tournament is at 8:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 3. Games 9-12 are played . Once you lose 5 games you are out of the competition. If you win 8 games out of the 12 qualifying games you are in the finals . The finalists will play single elimination 200 point games until a champion is crowned.
