Rumour: RTG to pull out of the USA...?

Partly rumour and partly speculation, but I would not be surprised if RTG pulled ALL their casinos out of the USA early next year...

They have introduced a "spin-off" software called NuWorks which a few casinos have already switched to, despite the fact they only have a handful of games at the moment.

My speculation is that they are trying to do what MG did a few years ago when they introduced Level11 software which allowed USA players after MicroGaming themselves shut down all their casinos in the USA.

Time will tell I suppose - but remember where you heard it first!

Wow, now that wouldnt be good. By the time our government gets around to doing something to allow us here in the US to play online again, there wont be anything left to play.

RTG has always been one of my favorites online and I would hope that if we ever get to play online again that it would be available to us.

Let me ask a dumb question here KK. Whats the point of changing to some other type of games if we arent allowed to play? I guess Im just not grasping the concept here.

Thank you for that news about RTG casinos, KK.

And bartongrl1, I think that's the whole idea behind our government's scheme of things; they scare away all the overseas online gambling so they can take over the US market (damn thieves).

The point is that RTG could pull out of the USA, but NuWorks would stay in.
Then if/when regulation ever comes and companies are legally allowed back in - RTG might be able to return while NuWorks would be dumped.
It makes sense if you think about it - it's what Microgaming did.

What other reason could there be for creating a "new software" with basically RTG games?
The only other thing I can think of is they would not allow Rogues to use NuWorks and so create a reputable brand name, rather than the "damaged" RTG name...

That makes sense. There were a lot of rogue RTG casinos and if this prevents that happening again, then I am all for it.

It had me worried though because I really like the RTG slot games and wouldnt want to see them dropped.

Re: Rumour: RTG to pull out of the USA...?

My wife and I were talking about this the other day, where some RTG casinos made the lot of them look bad.

We also talked about this new buzzluck casino with nuworks software; it has rtg software games, but calls them nuworks software games...
Their games play the same, but look different.

I guess that's a lot like any other company having to change its name because of one incident or another. I've seen it happen with banks.

Re: Rumour: RTG to pull out of the USA...?

Well, now that the DoJ has changed their mind about online gambling not being illegal in the US, those RTG casinos won't have to change to another software (unless it's a ruse).

I haven't heard anything else about what's going to happen with the online gambling world in the US.

It may be that these overseas online gambling establishments are still gun shy with the US market, and I don't blame them one bit.

Perhaps when a few new online gambling or gaming sites open in the US and start offering online games for US players to play, then the other markets may step in and give it a shot.
But it would be nice if online gambling for US players would come back sometime this year.

Re: Rumour: RTG to pull out of the USA...?

It sure would be nice if online gambling came back this year just like it was before the UIGEA was passed. I miss being able to gamble online like last week when we had the ice storm and couldnt get out of the house.

There are so many people that depended on online gambling, and poker, and bingo because they were housebound for whatever reason and now they dont even have that pasttime.

So come on, let us gamble online again. Get with the program and get this back to us ASAP.

Re: Rumour: RTG to pull out of the USA...?

Rest assured, I think those RTG casinos may stick around for awhile longer after the last DoJ ruling (crossing fingers).

I've actually had a few emails from a couple old Vegas Tech casinos in the past week.

Next question: Are the Vegas Tech casinos coming back?

If anybody has any ideas or news about that, please let us know. And thank you in advance.

Re: Rumour: RTG to pull out of the USA...?

I dont think that the RTG casinos will pull out of the US online casino venue.

As to Vegas Tech, I havent heard anything about them yet and am myself curious to know if they coming back or not, but, by your getting emails from them, it seems to me that it may be a good indication that they will.

If I hear anything else about this, I will be sure to let you know.
