Las Vegas and Wall Street

The problems on Wall Street have effected business in the Casino capital. I know that the problems are creating havoc everywhere people are frightened of what is happening and how it is going to affect our day to day lives.
In interviews the statements have been made that people are spending less money while they are visiting the only thing unchanged so far is how much the very wealthy are spending. It was also stated that it may soon be seen a tightening of their belts also.
Tourism isn't down as much as it was after the 9-11 incidents but it is down fifteen percent with hotel rentals down five percent. Sin city is faring well right now.
They are however seeing people spending their money more like if they were at home. Spending more time in coffee shops and less time in the highend restaurants.
Las Vega's future doesn't look bleak yet but if tourism falls off and people spend less money when they do visit I can see layoffs at least coming in the near future.

If things don't get turned around in our economy we can expect to see a lot of financial problems everywhere, including Vegas. I am glad they are still doing well but wonder for how long will it last? Businesses all over this nation are feeling the economic burden just as we all are.
