House committee voted today on Internet gambling bill.

I really have to wonder if the government really expects the banking system to try to track every online transaction. Seems to me like that would cost the banking industry zillions of dollars to implement and carry out.

Quote:
Spearheaded by Congressmen Frank and Ron Paul, (H.R. 5767) would prohibit the Department of the Treasury and Federal Reserve System from proposing, prescribing or implementing any regulations related to the current ban on internet gambling. Frank's bill, however, must be passed in the House and the Senate before the end of this year. That may seem like plenty of time to the uninformed but for anyone inside Washington, it's common knowledge that the Congressional calendar varies greatly from everyone else's. In other words, six remaining months barely translate into two remaining Congressional months

So whats next? And where does this leave us now?

House Committee

House committee voted today on Internet gambling bill.

I am completely dissapointed in the decision made by the House. Why would they turn down a golden opportunity to generate revenue for the U.S. as many other places are doing for their own countries? Also, how can they call this "The Land of the Free" when they won't even allow us to make our own choices? This news is quite frustrating to me. I really don't see how banks can possibly keep track of the accounts activities from gambling online.

WAKE UP government, get with the times!
