$30,000 is spent by a 13 year old who steals dads credit card and buys hookers and x

Where there is a will there is a way and i guess this kid found a way
to do what he wanted to do

[QUOTE13 Year Old Steals Dads Credit Card: Spends $30,000 on Hookers, XBox

Arizona Republican Senator Jon Kyl has long insisted that online gambling could result in children opening betting accounts by using their parents credit cards. Of course, no thought process was paid to the idea that most 13-year olds (let alone 17-year olds) know anything about casino gambling (nor would they want to). And the consideration that these youths would have to steal their parents card never really went into the thought process apparently

Never underestimate the power of a young mans brain
When boys want to play they find a way

bartongrl1 will become famous soon enough
$30,000 a year spent by 13 year old.

In todays society, I doubt that too many teenagers are much interested in online gambling as this scenario with this young man would indicate.

And where were mom and dad? Didnt they notice these charges on their credit cards each month? I highly doubt that they missed them. And the child being in a hotel room with a bunch of friends for the night?

The problem in our country is not online gambling, its parents that actually dont know what their kids are doing. We are a society today that lets TV, video games etc babysit our children.

It seems that out of sight, out of mind is the going thing these days.

First of all I am wondering who is buying the hookers "story" that the boys told them they were of stunted developement from a circus and that the hookers had no right to deny services. I think they just saw the dollar signs in their eyes! As Bartongrl1 said, where were the parents, I am sick and tired of everything else being the blame for what children do. Parents need to be accountable for their kids. I understand that it is impossible to watch your children's every move. I have 3 kids myself. I betcha you can call me anytime of the day or night and I can tell ya where my kids are. I can bet they wouldn't even consider stealing a credit card, nor would they call hookers and stay at a hotel. Parenting is definitly in question with this story. I am sure I have made mistakes with my kids, I am sure I will make more in the future but if my kids ever do something like this it will be on me, not blamed elsewhere.

You know I am a mother of 5 and I always new where my kids where and what they were doing. And to tell you the truth they are all adults now and I still know where they are and what they are doing and 3 of them don't even live with me any more. But they all call 1 to 2 times a day... This is a young boy who has defintely been left to fend for himself a few times to many. I hope they make the parents pay up the bill this boy racked up and give the parents and the boy some serious consiquences.
