Poker Pros Gear Up for APT
The list of participants has grown for this years Macau Asian Poker Tour (APT).
The 2008 APT Philippines champion David Saab, who already placed 46th at the World Series of Poker, will be among those playing in the main event. Four big name Asian poker pros have also been added to the list. They are J.C. Tran, Nam Le, Quinn Do, and Steve Sung.
It is said that J.C. Tran may be the one to beat. He is the top ranked player listed on the Bluff Magazine/ESPN power rankings. Tran started out by playing in local card rooms and has since made a nice rep for himself. He has won more than $6.7 million. He won $631,170 placing first this year at the WSOP at Event #49.
Nam Le is also considered a major threat. He was out early at the APT Philippines main event and will be seeking redemption. He has many first place finished under his wing and he finished fourth at the 2008 LA Poker Classic WPT Championship, winning $411,770.00. In total he has one more than $4.3 million in his career so far.
Quinn Do finished much better than Le at the APT Philippines with a 20th place finish and earned $7,500. He started playing poker full time in 2004 after attending the University of Washington and being involved in the restaurant business a little. Since then, he has won the WSOP Gold Bracelet at the 2005 WSOP Limit Hold'em Event and finished second at the 2008 LA Poker Classic WPT Championship. He won $909,400.00 and to date has earned about $2 million.
Steve Sung has yet to win a major tournament title but has placed high at several World Poker Tour (WPT) and World Series Of Poker (WSOP) events. His top finish so far was in the 2008 Bay 101 Shooting Star WPT Championship with second place. He has won over $1.4 million.
The second part of the 2008 Asian Poker Tour, APT Macau will run from August 27 to 31, 2008 at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino in Asia.
